Step by step cooking liver in sour cream with onions, recipe with photo:
1. Wash the liver under running water and dry it with a paper towel. Cut the veined films and cut them into medium sized pieces. But do not chop it very finely, otherwise there is a risk that it will dry out.
2. Peel the onions, wash, dry with a napkin and chop into thin quarter rings.
3. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat very well. Turn on medium heat and send the liver into it so that it is located all over the bottom, and not piled up in a pile. Otherwise, it will begin to stew, and not fry, from which it will lose some of the juice and become drier.
4. Fry the liver for 2-3 minutes and add the onions to the pan.
5. Continue to fry the food for another 7-10 minutes for the onion to become transparent and the liver to brown. Then season the food with salt, black pepper and any spices and herbs.
6. Stir the liver with the onion and pour the sour cream into the pan.
7. Stir the food again, cover the pan with a lid, turn the heat to the minimum setting and simmer the liver in sour cream and onions for 15 minutes. Taste its readiness. If it is tough, continue simmering for another 5-10 minutes and then sample again. Because chicken or turkey livers cook faster, and pork and beef livers take longer. Therefore, the cooking time will depend on the variety chosen.
