- Flour - 3 tablespoons
- Butter - 50 g
- Vanilla sugar - 1 tsp
Step-by-step preparation of New Year's Napoleon from ready-made puff pastry, recipe with photo:
1. Combine eggs with sugar to make the cream.
2. Beat them with a mixer on medium speed until fluffy and light. It is most convenient to do this immediately in a saucepan, in which you will then cook the cream.
3. Pour flour over the beaten eggs and mix well with a mixer until smooth so that there are no lumps.
4. Pour room temperature milk into a saucepan and place on the stove.
5. Heat food over moderate heat, stirring constantly with a whisk to avoid lumps.
6. As soon as the first bubbles appear on the surface, remove the pan from the stove, but do not stop interfering, otherwise there is still a risk that lumps will form. Place the butter and vanilla sugar in the cream. Stir to melt the butter and beat with a mixer for about 2-3 minutes until the cream becomes fluffy. Leave it to cool.
7. Defrost the puff pastry naturally at room temperature and place on a baking sheet, greased with a thin layer of butter.
8. Send the cakes to bake in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown. Then cool them down.
9. Place the first baked crust on a serving platter.
10. Apply a generous layer of cream to it. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts if desired.
11. Collect the cake by spreading the custard over the cakes. There can be from 4 to 8 layers in total, depending on their thickness.
12. Sprinkle the cake with walnuts, chopped cookies, coconut or any crunchy crumbs. You can also decorate the product with berries or fruits. Leave the finished New Year's Napoleon from the finished puff pastry to soak for 2-3 hours.
