How to freeze fresh green beans for the winter step by step?
First of all, of course, we will rinse the beans, after which we will need to cut them. We cut off the edge on both sides and do not use it. Then we cut the beans into pieces 2-3 cm long.
Put the beans in boiling water and cook for 3 minutes with an active boil.
We take out the beans with a slotted spoon and transfer them to another bowl with ice water and pieces of ice. We need to quickly cool the beans so that they do not cook on the inside while they cool down. This method is called blanching.
When the beans are completely cool, put the beans on a sieve or colander, and then let the water drain out.
We lay out the beans on a tray in one layer and send them to the freezer.
