Weaving from wire, felt, from newspaper tubes will allow you to use junk material and make a chicken for Easter, a basket, a vase, a cat, a lizard. Weaving is a very exciting activity. And the source materials for it can be very different. You can weave from paper, vine, cocktail tubes, wire, thread.
How to make chicken for Easter - weaving from paper
You can make it out of paper tubes.
To create such a character, you will need:
- yellow paper tubes;
- round form;
- glue Titanium and PVA;
- acrylic lacquer;
- knitting needles with a diameter of 3 mm;
- brush;
- clothespins;
- rubber bands;
- piece of wire;
- scissors;
- twine or thread;
- glass eyes for toys.
First you need to roll 70-80 tubes of yellow paper. Now you need to prepare them for subsequent work. To do this, take more than half of the tubes, moisten them from the spray bottle, leaving the ends dry. Wrap the tubes in cellophane, and the tips not moistened with water should look out. If they are suddenly moistened, then dry them with a hair dryer.
Therefore, these blanks must wait 15 minutes. The rest of the straws will be dry, take 2 pieces from this series. Put two more of the same on them perpendicularly. These will be racks. Place the pre-moistened tube diagonally on them, folding it in half. Now fly around the posts using the string pattern.
Thus, you need to perform two rows, then spread the racks and braid each separately. You will get a semblance of the sun with a small middle and four rays.
Take 8 dry straws and place them between the existing beams. You will have 18 racks. Braid them to make the bottom. Further, the chicken should have a semicircular shape, for this, continue to create it on a product of this shape.
To prevent the bottom from sliding off the form, tie it to it with twine.
At this stage, the working tubes will gradually end, they need to be increased. To do this, cut off the ends so that they become sharp and connect at an angle to another tube using glue. When you have braided the shape to the desired height, take it out. Pull the uprights slightly towards the middle and make three more rows.
Press the bottom of the basket slightly inward to make the product more stable.
At one working tube, you need to cut off the tip, grease it with glue and fix it on the back side, hiding it there. Leave the second one, as you will create a chicken tail from it.
Such weaving is very interesting, as it allows you to create wonderful things out of paper. Using the chintz pattern, you will need to complete 5 rows. Taper them gradually to make it look like a triangle.
At the top, fix the working tube by tying such a knot.
Fix it with PVA glue and clothespin. Wait for these materials to dry. Do not forget to bend the ponytail back a little so that it takes the correct shape.
Pour hot water into the syringe and spray the racks. Then they will become more malleable. But first you need to wait 10 minutes for this to happen.
Grab one of the struts with a knitting needle and pull it out. You need to do the same with all other stances that will form the wings. On the one hand, there will be 3 pieces and the same number on the other.
Now start shaping the head. It is carried out in the same way as the ponytail using the "chintz" pattern.
But this part should be 25 cm long. Therefore, gradually it is necessary to build up the tubes, gluing them to the previous ones, weave such a rectangle.
Cut off the working tube and uprights. Fix them with glue, and using an elastic band, fix the curled rectangle.
To carry out weaving from paper further, you need to insert a tube next to the wings to now weave them.
Perform them according to the principle of a ponytail, so that these parts also become triangular. Now you can start with the beak. It consists of two paper tubes, insert a wire into the middle of each. Fold each of these blanks in half.
Paste these elements into place. Take a thread with a needle and tie the thread around the beak.
If you have an orange thread, then you don't need to dye it. If in a different color, then take a color scheme of this shade and paint over the nose. Glue the chicken eyes in place, after which you need to let the work dry and you can put an Easter egg or candy inside.
Threads are also very interesting to weave. Many needlewomen have scraps of this material that you can use.
How to make a panel from threads?
Such a tree looks great against the background of bright monochromatic wallpaper. By hanging it on the wall, you can admire such a picture. But first you need to take:
- wooden frame;
- twine or thread;
- PVA glue;
- beads.
Cut 20 strands with twine scissors. Their size is easy to determine, each of these segments should be 4 times the size of the frame. But for now, fold the threads in half and tie them at the top bar. You can also attach several to the top sidewalls.
Place beads on some of the threads. These wooden elements will symbolize the leaves of the trees.
Now weave pigtails from the strings. Take the threads not in a row, but skipping several pieces.
Again, in such a chaotic manner, take a few strands and weave the tree branches further.
Then divide all the threads into 3 parts and weave a trunk out of them. Now distribute these ropes horizontally and tie them to the bottom of the frame with knots.
Cut off the extra strings. If you wish, make another panel of threads, then you will have such a cheerful tree with ribbons.
Cut an even number of ropes so long that when you tie them, they are 2 times larger than the frame, plus 10 cm. One should be the longest, you hang it in the middle of the frame. Attach all the rest on both sides of it.
Wind loose thread around the bottom of the frame. Pull the rest in here and tie them up.
Start making knots, gradually moving from bottom to middle. Then you will have a barrel.
Weave the ribbon into the crown, moving from the middle to the top.
Sew on some beads to make the tree festive and festive. Weaving from felt will allow you to use the leftover materials. You can use a fabric of several or a pubic color.
How to weave a felt basket?
This idea will appeal to those who do not know how or do not like to sew, since the work involves weaving fabrics without using a sewing machine and a needle. Take:
- felt strips measuring 50 by 2 cm - 19 pieces;
- scissors;
- sticker;
- lace;
- pins or clips.
First, place 7 strips next to each other. Attach at the end of each strip for easier handling.
Find the middle of this base and weave an 8th strip here in a checkerboard pattern.
As you can see, next to it you need to fix another one in the same way, and it is convenient to hold this blank with clips. Five more stripes follow, all of them should be located symmetrically in the middle and in a checkerboard pattern.
Now you need to make the walls from the remaining 5 strips. Connect them in a ring, fixing them in this position with a stapler, glue or thread and a needle.
Now twist the first into a ring, creating side walls from it, gradually giving it a square shape. Secure this blank with clips or pins.
Now, in the same way, but in a checkerboard pattern, attach the second ring here.
Acting on this principle, you also need to secure the rest of the strips. At this stage, you will already create the bottom and sides.
The long ends of the felt strips need to be cut and bent through one - then from the inside, then from the outside. Attach these parts with clips.
Now you need to tuck the tips of the upper ribbons inward. This will make the outside look beautiful. To make the inside look amazing, turn the basket inside out, tuck in the ends in the same way here.
Return the product to its original position and you can design it. For this you will need a lace. It must be pulled from above through the outside of the ribbons in a checkerboard pattern.
If you want to decorate the product with a sticker, then take a light felt and a sublimation picture. Put a sublimation picture on the felt, place masking tape or thermal tape on them. Iron to translate the picture. When you have done this, peel off the tape and remove the picture itself on the paper backing to take the felt.

How to weave from wire - diagrams and a master class
Such a cat is very durable. It can be left at home or taken out in the garden for the summer as a sculpture. Such a cat is not afraid of precipitation, and you can save a lot, since then you will not need to buy figurines for the garden.
If you have a wire lying around in your workshop or garage, then you don't even have to spend money on it. If not, then here's what you will need to purchase:
- wire with a diameter of 2 mm, from which you will form the base of the cat;
- wire with a diameter of 9 mm and 1.5 cm to decorate the surface of the sculpture;
- wire with a diameter of 1.5 cm to create a body;
- thin wire with a diameter of 5 mm for the mustache.
First, take the most voluminous wire and form a cat frame out of it. Make her body, four legs, base for the neck and head.
Now you need to add volume to the product. To do this, take a wire with a diameter of one and a half cm and start wrapping it around the frame in the area of the body and upper legs. Twist this material randomly, but so that the cat begins to take shape.
Continue in the same way, but now take a thinner wire, the diameter of which is 0.9 mm. It's good to highlight small details such as paws, head, ears. Also seal the cat's body with it.
To shape the ears, first make 2 triangular frames out of dense wire for them, and then braid them with thinner wire. Now remember what a cat looks like and wrap a part of its body with wire in such a way that they make a realistic sculpture. Attach a few pieces of wire to her nose, which will turn into a mustache. Paint your new pet, you can also use silver paint for the body and mustache, and black for the rest of the parts.

- thick copper wire for the frame with a diameter of 1–2 mm;
- thin wire 0.2 mm to connect the parts;
- nippers;

Now place the wire frame on a large piece of paper and trace around it. Divide the abdominal frame and back into 6 parts and connect these parts as shown in the photo.
You have small fragments. Create your own or use the patterns provided to fill them in.

Look at the hint diagram and start bending the elements of the fish with the appropriate tools. Some you can put on beads.
To keep the braided wire pieces on the same level, when you create them, beat them with a hammer on a flat surface. Now, looking at the main clue diagram, you need to fill the fish with the created elements. Strengthen them with a thin wire, and if there are any gaps, put beads here and fix them.
Fill in the tail and fins with wire, bending it in a wavy, snake, or spiral pattern.
To make an eye, take a bead and thread a wire through it. Wrap the tip of this metal stick to hold the jewelry in place. Next, bend the wire around the bead using special tools. You can attach the eye to the base with a thin wire.
Wire braiding goes well with beads.

- paper.
When working with the wire, be extremely careful not to get hurt by turning it in different directions. Also, be careful with the wire cutters.
First, draw a sketch of the lizard on paper, see what curved elements it will consist of.
Take a dense wire, it should be 6 times longer than the resulting lizard, and begin to bend it as needed. On the muzzle of this reptile, fasten the wire by making a loop here.
Using round nose pliers, mark the wire, then shape the legs and body of the animal, as well as the tail, and pass the wire from the lizard's nose to its tail.
Attach a thin wire to the reptile's head. Put beads on it, fill in the body of the lizard.
Fix the thin wire on the center thick wire, also on the sidewalls, to secure the turns. If the wire runs out, you will need to extend it. Thus, fill in the whole body and start shaping the legs.
To do this, you need to tie a small diameter wire on them and also string beads.

Take:
- copper wire;
- dark electrical tape;
- nippers;
- scissors;
- a flap of tissue;
- hot glue gun.
First, make the base for the vase. This element will be round. Now you need 6 identical pieces of wire that will become the side walls of the product. Attach them to the round base by folding the eyelets. Cover these connecting pieces with electrical tape.
From the wire, create two more circles of different sizes. Attach the large one to the center of the vase, the small one at the top. Also connect the parts with electrical tape.
Cut strips from the fabric and wrap them around the metal parts of the product. Secure these tapes with a hot gun.
