Ingredients:
- Homemade or commercial puff yeast dough - 300 g
- Plums - 300 g
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 30 g
Step by step preparation of a plum roll:
1. Place the butter in a skillet and melt over medium heat. Make sure that it does not start to burn.
2. Wash the plums, cut in half, remove the seeds and cut the halves into two more parts. Although you can cut the berries into smaller pieces. When the butter is completely melted, add the plums and sprinkle with sugar.
3. Sear the plums over medium heat until they caramelize and become a jam.
4. By this time, prepare puff pastry or defrost the purchased one. Defrost the dough without using the microwave to avoid spoiling the texture. After that, sprinkle the work surface with flour and roll out the dough into a thin rectangular layer of about 3 mm with a rolling pin.
5. Spread the plums evenly on the dough, leaving about 1.5-2 cm along the four edges.
6. Tuck the dough on three edges, covering the berry filling.
7. Gently roll the dough into a roll. Do not press down on it so that the filling does not fall out and the dough does not break.
8. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment and place the roll seam side down. With a silicone brush, brush the roll with butter or an egg so that there is a golden brown crust. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and send the cake to bake for half an hour. Cool the finished product, sprinkle with powdered sugar, cut into pieces and serve.
