Do you like sweets? This is an excuse to make apple jam! Do you like sweet and healthy? Then viburnum and apple jam is waiting for you!

How many recipes for preserves, jams and confitures exist - do not count! A recipe I discovered in my grandmother's cookbook caught my eye. I immediately decided to try it and make apple jam with viburnum. It would seem an unusual combination, but I was sure that the result would not disappoint me, and I was not mistaken in that! The jam will really work out great! Moderately sweet, with a slight apple sourness and an incomparable note that only viburnum can give. And the color! Intense ruby hue that plays in the sun. If you love viburnum the way I love it (I am aware that not everyone likes its taste), then you will become a true fan of this jam.

Step-by-step preparation of jam from viburnum and apples

Rinse the viburnum berries under running water and pick off the branches.

For jam, you will need pitted and skinless viburnum puree, so we grind the berries through a metal sieve, and throw away all unnecessary.

Wash apples, peel and core with seeds, three on a coarse grater and put in a saucepan. We put on the smallest fire, add 2 tbsp. l. water and simmer under the lid for at least 20 minutes.

To the boiled apples, which generously gave juice, add granulated sugar, stir so that all the crystals disperse in the hot apple brew and continue to simmer the jam for another 20 minutes. The apple mass should begin to thicken.

Add viburnum puree to the apples, mix and let it boil for no more than 5 minutes, so that the maximum of the nutrients contained in the viburnum is preserved.
We put hot jam in sterile jars if you want to leave them for the winter. If you already plan to serve jam to the table and store it in the refrigerator, then sterilizing the glass container is not necessary.

Delightfully scarlet, fragrant, with an extraordinary rich taste, apple jam with viburnum is ready! Serve it with pancakes, pancakes, cheesecakes or just on a slice of toast for tea!
