Lazy "Napoleon" is by no means a dish for lazy housewives. Rather, on the contrary - for those who, despite work, family and a lot of household chores, want to cook their favorite dessert for their home. With this recipe, we want to help the hostesses save the time they would have to spend at the stove baking cakes for the famous cake. Instead, we use the "ears" puff pastry, and all you need is to make a custard.
Do not overdo it with sugar: the cookies are very sweet in themselves, and so that the dessert does not turn out to be too cloying, cook a moderately sweet cream, adding a minimum of granulated sugar to it. The whole process will take no more than 20-25 minutes plus 10 minutes to assemble the cake. You can cook it in the evening and let it sit overnight for the dessert to soak well. And in the morning you can please your family by offering them a slice of lazy Napoleon for breakfast. Such a dessert will become a lifesaver not only for working mothers, but also for novice cooks, and for students with a modest budget - after all, the list of necessary products is very accessible.

Step-by-step cooking with a photo of a lazy "Napoleon" made from biscuits with custard
1. Prepare the custard. Combine sifted flour, cornstarch, granulated sugar and yolks in a convenient deep bowl. Add a bag of vanilla sugar if desired.
2. Stir the ingredients together, gradually pouring milk into it.
3. We have prepared the base for the custard. Check that the liquid is homogeneous, without a single lump. If you still come across lumps, stir everything for a few minutes with a whisk.
4. It remains to brew the cream. Do not do this on fire: there is a high risk that the cream will burn. Better cook it in a water bath. To do this, put water in a saucepan, let it boil and place a saucepan with a cream base in it. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens. Set aside the finished custard and start assembling the lazy cake.
5. We will collect the lazy "Napoleon" in a detachable form. The bottom of the mold can be greased with a piece of butter. We spread the first layer of "Ears", filling even the smallest gaps with pieces of cookies.
6. Spread the still uncooled cream on a layer of cookies, smooth it out.
7. Repeat step 6: put the "Ears" layer again. We fill the form to the very top, alternating between cream and cookies.
8. Place a few cookies in a food grade plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin into sweet crumbs.
9. Sprinkle the crumbs on the cake and let the cream saturate the cookie layers well. It is better if the cake is kept in the cold all night, then the puff pastry is guaranteed to be soft. That's all! The lazy Napoleon is ready.
10. You can serve it to the table.
