1. Wash the potatoes under running cold water, brush well and dry with a paper towel. You can also dab some baking soda on the brush. It will not spoil the taste, but it will remove dirt and some living microorganisms from the surface of the tuber.
It is better to bake potatoes of the same size and variety at the same time, so that they cook evenly and at the same time. If there are many "eyes" on the tuber and there is damage by pests (such as a wireworm), then it is not suitable for baking.
2. Place the potatoes on a baking tray. This can be a glass or ceramic dish, or just a baking sheet for an oven. Season the tubers with salt.
If you wish, you can not cook the vegetables whole, but cut them into pieces. However, whole baked potatoes retain all the useful properties.
