If you are tired of traditional pork, beef and chicken, then indulge your loved ones and guests with a delicious new dish. Roast the duck along with the side dish. I am sure that all eaters will be pleasantly and unexpectedly surprised, and you will save time and effort, since the dish is quite simple to prepare and even a beginner in cooking can handle it.
Some housewives refuse to cook duck, because there is an opinion that it is harsh. But this is easy to fix if you supplement the bird with apples. The acid they contain will soften the meat and give it a unique flavor. Also choose the right duck for the dish. It is advisable to give preference to carcasses grown on a poultry farm. It is softer, the meat is juicier and cooks faster. Homemade carcasses have a lot of subcutaneous fat and have a more pronounced specific taste. The average bird size should be 1.5-2.5 kg. If the duck is larger, then it is older, and, accordingly, its meat is tougher. Cooking duck, of course, is more effective if you bake it whole. But it turns out no less juicy by dividing it into portions.

Ingredients:
- Duck pieces - 0.5 carcasses
- Apples - 3 pcs.
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Ground black pepper - a pinch
- Ground ginger powder - 1 tsp
- Potatoes - 3-4 pcs.
- Ground cinnamon - 0.5 tsp
- Prunes - 100 g
- Soy sauce - 50 ml
- Mustard - 1 tsp
Step-by-step cooking of duck slices with potatoes, apples and prunes, recipe with photo:
1. In a pickling bowl, combine soy sauce, mustard, ginger powder, black pepper and ground cinnamon.
2. Stir the sauce well.
3. Prepare the duck by this time. Wash it well and remove the black tan. Remove the internal fat and skin so that the dish is not very high in calories. Because the skin contains a lot of cholesterol. Cut it into medium sized pieces and place in the marinade.
4. Stir and leave for 2 hours for juices and flavors to saturate the meat.
5. Choose a convenient baking dish and place the marinated duck in it.
6. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into wedges. Send it to the container with the remaining duck marinade.
7. Stir and set aside.
8. In the meantime, wash the apples, core them, cut into wedges, and place in a bowl towards the duck. Wash prunes, dry and send to the bird. If it has bones, then remove them first. Strongly dry berries do not need to be soaked, they will soften under the influence of hot steam during cooking.
9. Add pickled potatoes to food. Salt everything. But do not overdo it with salt, because the products are marinated in soy sauce, and it is already salty.
10. Cover the form with cling foil and send to cook in a heated oven to 180 degrees for 1.5 hours.
11. Serve the food to the table right in the form in which it was prepared. Each eater will be able to independently impose those pieces that they like best.
