For modern housewives, pita bread is just a lifesaver, especially when you need to cook something tasty and fast. However, first, you should first choose pita bread so that it is tasty.
How to choose pita bread
Despite the fact that lavash consists of flour, water and salt, it can be rubbery, burnt, damp inside, and simply not safe for our health. This is due to unevenly rolled dough and improper baking technology.
Lavash can be Georgian round, long and elongated, or Armenian - leafy and thin. In both cases, the lavash dough is kneaded from flour, salt and cold water. Therefore, when purchasing a bread product, one must pay attention to the composition of the ingredients indicated on the manufacturer's label, without additional impurities. Although in our country, the state does not regulate lavash, and there are no standards for its production.
How to cook pita bread yourself
However, any housewife can cook pita bread on her own. For this, a soft and elastic dough is kneaded from 500 g of flour, a pinch of salt and 1 glass of water. If desired, you can add 50 g of softened butter or vegetable oil. The dough is kneaded until it stops sticking to your hands. Then the dough is divided into small balls 5-6 cm, rolled into a thin pancake 1-2 mm and fried in a very hot pan or baked in the oven, literally 10-15 seconds on each side.

Making apple strudel from pita bread
1. Wash and dry the apples. Remove the peel from it; this can be done with a special knife for peeling vegetables. Remove the core with seeds, and cut the flesh into cubes about 1, 5 cm in size.
2. Put the pan on the stove, put the butter in it and melt. Add honey to the butter and let it melt. Then send the apples to fry and caramelize them, about 5 minutes.
3. Divide the oval pita bread into two parts. If you have a round pita bread, then you will need 2 such pieces.
Spread the pita bread on the table and in the middle place a portion of fried-caramelized apples, which are sprinkled with copious amounts of coconut.
4. Fold the pita bread into an envelope. You can also spread the apples over the entire surface of the pita bread and roll it up (roll it up with a tube). This is already a matter of taste.
5. Wrap the pita bread in baking foil and place in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for 20 minutes. If you want a crispy brown crust, bake the strudel without foil for the last 10 minutes.
6. Serve hot. Delicious apple pita strudel is paired with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or chocolate syrup.
