Contraindications and harm of rice milk
Today, more and more scientific evidence indicates that rice contains naturally occurring arsenic. Sad as it is, it’s true. That is why, before eating the grain, it is advised to soak it in cold water for at least an hour.
Any rice milk recipe recommends steeping the cereal for 12 hours. Mainly for softening cereals, but this also significantly reduces the harmful effects of arsenic on the body. However, despite this, the product is contraindicated for use by children under 5 years of age. An adult's body is able to neutralize a dangerous component, but a child's body is unlikely to cope with this task. It is also not recommended to completely switch to this product for those who suffer from vitamin deficiency. Rice milk contains a large amount of carbohydrates and contains almost no protein, unlike its soy "counterpart". At the same time, it can cause endocrine dysfunction when overused.
This suggests that the types of plant milk must be alternated; one cannot give preference to any one product. And yet, comparing the ratio of the benefits and harms of rice milk, there is much more positive in the use of this drink than negative.
