The inside and outside of the timber bath is finished only after complete shrinkage and caulking of the structure. To complete the cladding yourself, you need to choose the right materials and follow the instructions provided. Content:

The finishing lining of the steam room is necessary not only for the embodiment of stylistic solutions. This process also includes insulation, steam and waterproofing. The external and internal decoration of the bath from the timber is carried out not immediately after the end of construction. You need to wait until the structure completely settles and then carry out the caulking. Sometimes it takes about one to two years between the erection of a log house and its cladding. It is undesirable to veneer the structure up to caulking, since this process involves raising the bath to a height of 8-10 cm. In this case, the finishing material will be damaged.

Interior decoration of a bath from a bar

The interior decoration of a bath from a profiled bar, as a rule, is not carried out. The walls in such a steam room are initially smooth and even, and therefore they are simply treated with an antiseptic solution. But if desired, the lining of the steam room must be carried out only with environmentally friendly and natural materials. Do not use metal products as they become very hot. Please note that fasteners must be selected galvanized and must be buried, used as an alternative to wood.

Interior decoration of a bath from a bar clapboard

The lining is optimally suited for finishing a bath from a bar. A room in which there will be high temperatures can be trimmed with linden or larch. Touching such a casing even at high temperatures, it is impossible to get a burn. Coniferous wood is not used in the decoration of the steam room, because when heated, it emits resin, from which you can get burned. It makes sense to combine several types of wood in the interior decoration of the bath. The lining is laid, as a rule, in two ways - vertically and horizontally. Most often, baths use a vertical finishing method.

Work order:

  1. We make markings for installing vertical rails. We start from the corners with a step of about 590 mm between the inner edges.
  2. We put the waterproofer from the bottom up. We put the upper film on the lower one with an overlap of 25-30 cm. Fix the upper edge with a stapler or self-adhesive.
  3. We equate the protective film under the racks, which we install in the corners along the marking. Using a level or plumb line, we put them in a strictly vertical position.
  4. We stretch the rope from below and from above between the extreme posts. It will be the reference point for basing the inner racks.
  5. We install internal racks.
  6. Align the protective film. Make sure that air does not enter the area of open logs.
  7. We put the insulation mats in the gaps between the posts from the bottom up. Each new mat is carefully pressed to the lower one. Avoid gaps. We level the upper mats with a knife.
  8. Put a layer of vapor barrier foil or polyethylene on top.
  9. We fix the horizontal slats. Lining strips will be mounted on them. We fasten or nail on top of the vapor barrier slats at the top and bottom of the future sheathing. We place the inner slats with a pitch of about 600 mm. Use a level.
  10. We put the first plank vertically in the corner of the wall. Its groove should face the master. The first plank is very important, since the quality of the future cladding as a whole depends on how correctly it is fixed.
  11. Using nails or self-tapping screws along the edge, we fix the lining to each horizontal rail. Remember that the mounting caps must completely cover when decorative cornering.
  12. We put the clamps into the edge of the lining groove and nail them to the crate. We do this operation with all subsequent planks. Tap the piece of wood with a mallet to prevent damage to the finishing material.
  13. We sheathe all the walls, fix the baseboards and seal the corners with decorative corners.

Interior decoration of a bath from a bar with facing tiles

Facing tiles are a versatile material that is highly resistant to the unfavorable conditions of bath rooms. In addition, the tiles are easy to maintain and will last for many years. Decorating a bath from a bar with your own hands using tiles makes it possible to bring to life various design solutions.

We carry out the work in the following order:

  1. We pre-sheathe the walls with insulating waterproof material - roofing felt or tar paper.
  2. On top we attach a metal mesh base, which we cover with a layer of plaster. The thickness of the latter should be at least 1.5 cm. Make sure that the plaster layer is perfectly even.
  3. We are preparing an adhesive composition. You can make it yourself from cement and sand. The proportion is 1: 4, respectively.
  4. Tiles can be laid in three ways: seam in seam, diagonal, in space. Lay the tiles on the wall from the bottom up.
  5. We apply an adhesive solution to each tile. We give the required horizon to the tiles using a rubber mallet. Press the tiles evenly against the wall.
  6. We fix the tile seams with a cross.
  7. We maintain an even row of tiled flooring. For this we use a level or lacing.
  8. Excess glue that protrudes beyond the edges is collected with a spatula.
  9. We cut the tiles with a tile cutter. We install such trimmed tiles in the most inconspicuous places, for example, where they will be hidden by a bench, shelf or baseboard.

External finishing of a bath from a bar

Additional external lining of the bath, as well as the internal one, is made only after complete shrinkage of the structure. Before finishing work, it is necessary to caulk the gaps between the joints. For this, we forget the strands of insulation (tow, jute, moss) in the cracks.

Siding panels serve as an excellent protection of the building from atmospheric phenomena. Before installing the siding on the walls, you should lay it on a flat surface for a day or two. Make sure that the type of siding you choose is as resistant to moisture as possible.

We carry out the work in the following sequence:

  1. We treat the walls with a primer and let dry (about 8 hours).
  2. We fill the crate in steps of up to 1 meter.
  3. We put insulation in the space between the beams. Particular attention should be paid to the corners. To align them, we use an aluminum profile.
  4. There should be free space between the insulation and the siding for ventilation. To do this, we install a counter-lattice. We fasten the rail in the crate. Its cross section should be corresponding to the size of the gap.
  5. We waterproof the surface with a special film.
  6. We fix the starting bar with self-tapping screws. At the same time we mount the corner pieces.
  7. We install the siding sheets first of all in the starting and corner strips.
  8. The panels are laid from bottom to top. We join the parts using grooves.
  9. We fix the finishing bar last.
  10. We install platbands.

Siding can deform slightly over time due to the influence of temperature. Therefore, a gap of at least 1 cm should be left between the screw head and the panel. The fasteners should be in the center of the holes, perpendicular to the panels.

Exterior decoration of a bath from a bar with a block house

Lined bath with block house

Block house is one of the types of timber imitation. It has a rounded outer side. Thus, a sheathed bath is similar to a structure made of rounded logs. The panels of the block house are treated with an antiseptic before installation.

Operating procedure:

  1. To fix the panels of the block house on the walls of the bath, we make a crate. For this we use square bars (30x30 mm). We mount them vertically with a pitch of about 50 mm.
  2. We use clamps to install the panels. We bend one part into the groove of the panel. The second is fastened with a self-tapping screw to the crate.
  3. We connect the panels to each other and repeat the procedure from bottom to top, strictly horizontally.
  4. We decorate the corners of the building with plinths. Windows and doors - platbands.

Please note that when cladding with a block house, it is forbidden to lay a thermal insulation layer. This will cause the wood to rot. Features of a bath from a bar are demonstrated in the video:

If the decorative cladding on the outside is not mandatory, then you cannot do without the inside. Decorating the walls of a bath with your own hands is a difficult process. The performance characteristics of the steam room depend on the correctness of the heat, steam and waterproofing work. Acting according to the instructions, it will not be difficult for you to carry out a complete lining of the bath from a bar yourself.
