Zucchini and oatmeal are foods that kids don't particularly like. But they are very useful and they must be consumed by a growing child's body. Most often, we cook porridge from oatmeal, which is pretty boring, and we stew zucchini for the children's table, which is not entirely tasty in comparison with fried or baked vegetables. And in order to feed our children with these useful products, you need to come up with dishes to disguise them.
Today we are going to make a zucchini pie with oatmeal. After all, just having heard the word "pie", all the kids will look forward to a tidbit. And in this product, they will not even guess that it is made from cereals and vegetables. In the finished pie, zucchini can easily be confused with apples, and no one will notice the oatmeal. And if you are already tired of zucchini, then use squash or zucchini. Such pastries will conquer even the most fastidious children!
This pie is delicious both hot and chilled and can be served with tea, milk or honey. Although any other flavoring additives will also go well with the product. In addition, you can give such a cake to your child to school and take it with you to work. A healthy, tasty and satisfying lunch is guaranteed.

- Servings Per Container - 1 Pie
- Cooking time - 1 hour
Ingredients:
- Zucchini - 1 pc.
- Oat flakes - 100 g
- Rye flour - 100 g
- Sour cream - 150 g
- Eggs - 2 pcs.
- Orange zest or powder - 1 tsp
- Soda - 1 tsp
- Salt - a pinch
- Sugar - 100 g or to taste
Step-by-step cooking of zucchini pie with oatmeal:
1. Put sugar, sour cream and egg yolk in a container for kneading dough.
2. Use a mixer to knead the food until smooth and add the oatmeal and baking soda.
3. Stir the food so that the flakes are distributed throughout the mass and add the orange zest, which also stir in.
4. Pour flour into a bowl and sift through a fine sieve to enrich it with oxygen. Mix the dough with a mixer. Its consistency will be a little tight, but it's okay, then we will make it thinner.
5. Beat the whites with a mixer until fluffy and white foam forms, and send them into the dough. Stir in the egg whites into the dough. Do this with slow movements in one direction so that they do not fall off and the air does not come out. I draw your attention to the fact that whites should only be whipped in a clean and dry container and can be cleaned with whisk without water drops.
6. Grease a baking dish with butter and place the sliced zucchini, sprinkle with orange zest on top. The method of cutting can be different: strips, bars, rings, or just a vegetable can be grated.
7. Pour the dough into a baking dish and swirl until it spreads evenly.
8. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send the cake to bake for 40-45 minutes. Check the readiness of the product by piercing a toothpick. There should be no sticking of dough on it. If the dough sticks, then bake further and check again. Serve warm or chilled, and brush with icing or fondant if desired.
