Christmas wreath
Simple New Year's crafts in the shape of a fir wreath are more popular in the West, but you can often see them in stores in Russia as well. True, they are made of artificial materials. It is much more pleasant to independently make a wreath of fresh cones and spruce branches, exuding an amazing aroma.
If a child is engaged in crafts, he will need the help of adults. Take foam rubber or cardboard as a basis for the product, cut a wheel out of it. Prepare tree branches, cones, beads, dried fruits and berries, artificial snowflakes and other decorations and ask your child to place them on the base in the desired order.
When the composition is ready, we proceed to the most difficult stage. Using a glue gun or rubber glue, attach the elements to the base. As a decoration, grease the spruce branches and cones with PVA glue and sprinkle with cotton wool, glitter or paint white with a spray can.

To make the lamp you will need a 0.5 liter glass jar, glue and sparkles. Apply a layer of glue to the jar and distribute fine glitter evenly over it, leaving a small space.
You can make the decoration more interesting by making a pattern in the shape of a snowflake or snowman. To do this, take an adhesive tape, cut out the necessary elements from it and stick it on the jar. Cover the entire surface of the container with sparkles, except for the picture.
When the lamp is ready, place a lit candle inside. The fire will be visible through the unpainted part of the glass and illuminate the space around.
Orange peel candlesticks
If you are very fond of oranges, make original candlesticks from the peels. You can put them on the table: the lamps exude a pleasant citrus scent. For crafts, choose large fruits, inside which a candle will fit.
Manufacturing technique:
- Take an orange and cut off the top.
- Remove the pulp carefully so as not to damage the skin.

First, string wide circles on a toothpick or skewer, lowering them down, then medium and narrow at the end. To keep the tree stable, fix the rod with plasticine on a piece of cardboard or wooden plank.
- Chain … This is a simple Christmas paper garland that even a kid can handle. For manufacturing, you will need the same short paper strips of various shades. Glue the edges of the first strip to form a ring. Pass the next strip through it and glue its ends. Do the same with the rest of the elements, forming a chain. Hang the finished garland on the Christmas tree.
- Snowflakes … White paper, cardboard or napkins are suitable for making jewelry. Fold the sheet in four and round the corners by cutting off unnecessary parts. Draw a snowflake pattern using geometric shapes, ornament. Cut out the pattern along the outline. Expand the snowflake.
- Santa Claus from paper plates … If there are paper plates left in the house, use sheets of colored paper and cotton wool to make Santa Claus. Draw the nose, eyes and mouth on the plate. - Garland … Take a tape or thick rope. Color the buds golden or dip the tips in white paint. Use braid or gold-colored thread to tie the bumps to the string or main ribbon. Hang or arrange the garland on a shelf.
- flower composition … While flowers are not a New Year's decoration, a pine cone painting is a great gift or home decor. Take a cardboard photo frame as a basis for your future painting. Paint the buds in bright colors, in the center make the middle of a different shade. Arrange the cones on the cardboard backing in the desired order and secure with a glue gun. Hang the painting on the wall.
- Candlesticks … For manufacturing, you need wide cones. Remove the inside carefully so as not to damage the shape. Install a candle in the resulting cavity. If desired, decorate the candlestick with golden paint, sparkles.
- Gnomes … Cones are easy to make gnome toys. Glue 2 cotton pads on top of the bump, folding them together. Attach a beige ball or small ball to the discs. Draw eyes, nose, mouth on it, put on a red cap made of felt or cotton on top. Roll 2 flagella out of white paper, form semicircles from them and attach to the cone like the handles of a gnome. The toy is ready.
You can make Christmas decorations from cones in the shape of snowmen in the same way as gnomes, birds, owls, mice and other animals and birds.
New Year felt crafts
Felt Christmas toys are more like soft toys. Many of them sew by connecting several elements. But there are also simple products that can be made in 10-15 minutes.
For example, a felt herringbone made from rags of fabric. For crafts, you need green felt. Cut it into squares of different sizes. For each size, you will need 5 squares, a total of 30 blanks. Fold the thread in several layers, make a knot at one end. Start stringing the large squares, turning them so that they do not completely overlap with each other.
Gradually move to the middle squares and complete the tree with the smallest ones. Decorate the top with a bead or toy star and secure the thread. Decorate the Christmas tree with sparkles or beads if desired.
More complex shapes, for example, snowflakes, are also made of felt. Cut 2 identical free-form snowflakes out of white or blue felt. Sew them around the edges. Push pieces of cloth, foam rubber or cotton wool inside to add volume to the toy. Decorate the outside with embroidery, sequins or beads.
Christmas crafts and bead decor
Beaded Christmas toys are considered difficult to make. If they are taken up by children, they will need the help of adults. First, make one of the simple toys - a snowflake made of beads:
- Cut 6-8 pieces of wire to the same length.
- Fasten them in the middle with thread or glue, leaving equal space between the pieces of wire.
- String beads or seed beads onto the wire.
- Fix them around the edges with glue or threads.
When you master the snowflake, you can proceed to more complex New Year's beaded decorations. Create a herringbone based on a wire frame:
- Twist a piece of thick wire into a spiral.
- Cut short pieces of thin, strong wire.
- Attach them to the spiral frame so that they evenly fill the entire "trunk".
- String green beads onto the wire pieces, attaching larger red beads at the ends.
- Decorate the upper end of the thick wire with red beads.
