A fragrant and mouth-watering quick home-made pizza pizza with pickled onions. Step-by-step recipe with a photo. Video recipe.
A pack of frozen puff pastry is a convenient, versatile culinary invention. It tolerates freezing well and has a long shelf life. A variety of products are quickly and easily prepared from it, incl. and pizza with any toppings. Today we have a simplified version that will especially appeal to lovers of a thin, crunchy foundation with a ruddy, but not overdried edge. A hearty pizza is made from puff pastry with pickled onions in the oven, like most other homemade adaptations of classic Italian pastries. The only thing that can be confusing is the rectangular shape. But rolling out a circle from layers with four corners is inconvenient and not economical at all. Although these are trifles!
For the preparation of pizza, ready-made commercial dough is used, which can be puff-yeast or yeast-free. This dough will give the baked goods a pleasant crunch and delicate taste. And with the filling, you can experiment as much as your imagination allows, and each time you get a new dish! Today, pickled onions have been added to the filling, which gives the product a spicy taste. The rest of the filling products are classic: sausage, ketchup and cheese. But you can supplement the product with tomatoes, pickles, olives, bell peppers, chicken, mushrooms, etc.

Step-by-step cooking pizza from puff pastry with pickled onions, recipe with photo:
1. Peel the onions, wash and chop into thin strips. Put it in a deep plate, add sugar, table vinegar, pour boiling water over and stir. Leave it to marinate at all times until you use it. Stir it occasionally. Hot water will remove the spiciness from the onion.
2. Remove the dough from the freezer and leave to defrost naturally without using a microwave oven. This process will take you about 30-40 minutes. Then dust the table with a rolling pin with flour and roll out the dough into a thin rectangular layer of about 5 mm. Although the thickness of the base can be thicker for your choice. This will only affect the baking time.
3. Place the dough on a baking tray and brush with ketchup. Peel the garlic, finely chop and sprinkle on the dough.
4. Tumble onions on a sieve and leave to drain all the water. Then dry it well with a paper towel and place it on the dough.
5. Peel the sausage from the packaging film, cut it into 5 mm rings and place on the dough.
6. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and sprinkle the food.
7. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send the puff pastry pizza with pickled onions to bake for half an hour. As soon as the food is browned, remove it from the oven and serve immediately while it is hot!
