1. Defrost the dough at room temperature or on the lower shelf of the refrigerator, but do not use the microwave. Sprinkle the work surface and rolling pin with flour and roll out the rectangular dough into a thin layer of about 3-5 mm and transfer it to a baking sheet.
2. Defrost the plums naturally and place on the dough, placing them along the entire length of the layer, leaving free edges on both sides. If the plums are fresh, wash them, dry them with a paper towel, halve them and remove the seeds. The fruit can be used in halves or sliced as you like.
3. Season the plums with sugar, but if they are very sweet, then sugar can be skipped. Also sprinkle the fruit with flour so that it absorbs the juice released from the plums during baking.
4. Cut the free edges of the dough on both sides into strips obliquely in the form of a herringbone, about 2 cm wide.
5. Cover the filling with strips of dough, alternately on each side, making a roll in the form of a pigtail. Brush the roll with beaten egg or butter.
6. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send the roll with plums from puff pastry dough to bake in a heated oven to 180 degrees for half an hour. Cool the finished product a little, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with tea, cocoa or coffee with a scoop of ice cream.
