In addition to this, the main material, to create such a thing, you need:

  • wide tape;
  • well sharpened knife or scissors;
  • thick cardboard;
  • for lining foam rubber or synthetic winterizer;
  • needles with thread;
  • the cloth.

If you know how to knit, you can decorate the ottoman with threads. Then you will need another crochet hook or knitting needles.

Typically, a medium-sized ottoman takes 14-30 bottles. Do not forget to screw the covers tightly to them so that the product turns out to be strong and all these elements are of the same height. If you are making an ottoman in winter, first place the bottles without caps in the cold, then bring them into the room and screw them down, then the base will be stronger. To make a round ottoman out of bottles, place one in the center. Cover it with other similar containers, wrap with tape. Now form the next row in the same way. When the width of the ottoman is enough, finish this stage of work.

The product can be not only round, but also square. In this case, position the bottles so that they form this shape.

But we do round. Put the resulting blank on a piece of cardboard, cut out 2 circles. One will become the top and the other the bottom of the product. Also tape these blanks to the base.

In the first case, they take for work:

  • 2 car tires;
  • a sheet of bending plywood 100x90 cm in size;
  • thin felt;
  • thick furniture foam rubber;
  • plywood;
  • screwdriver and self-tapping screws;
  • furniture stapler.

Car tires must be connected from the inside with self-tapping screws. Attach a piece of felt to the bottom cover using a furniture stapler, cutting it to fit the bottom of the cover to make it easier to move the ottoman on the floor.

If you have casters or can get them from your local hardware store, then screw them onto the bottom of the ottoman. In this case, such a piece of furniture will become even easier to move. Bend the flexible plywood and attach to the tires with large self-tapping screws.

Cut out of plywood and foam rubber in a circle equal to the diameter of the tire. First put plywood on top of the tire, thick foam rubber on it and secure with self-tapping screws. Attach the felt with a furniture stick to the back of the ottoman. It remains to sew a cover on the chair, put on this final detail and give a gift made with your own hands.

For an orange ottoman made of tires, the tires are also attached from the inside with self-tapping screws. Then plywood and foam rubber are cut out according to the size of the tire, a cover for the cover is sewn, which can be removable. In this case, you can store some things in the recess of the ottoman. Attach the foam rubber to the tires, put on the cover and cover.

You need a pattern to create this soft and comfortable piece. It is presented below.

And also these materials and related items:

  • satin or coarse calico 3–3.5 meters long for the inner cover and the same amount for the outer one, but made of leatherette;
  • lightning about a meter long;
  • filler for armchairs;
  • fabric for applique;
  • threads;
  • pins;
  • scissors.

First you need to enlarge the pattern, for this number the squares on the one presented. Then draw larger squares on a Whatman paper or graph paper, lining up, and also number each. Now, looking at the first pattern, redraw it over your layout and cut out the details. Transfer them to fabric. You should get:

  • 1 piece - a small circle for the top;
  • 6 pieces of wedges;
  • 1 large circle for the bottom.

If you wish, you can also sew such a pillow-bone, the pattern of which is also presented. To create this product, you need to cut 2 parts from faux fur and fill them with filler.

The bag chair is sewn as follows: stitch the wedges together on the sewing machine from the sides, stitch on the bottom. Sew the upper circle only halfway, put the filling for the chairs in the hole formed. These can be pieces of padding polyester or small foam balls. Sew the other half of the circle to the top of the gussets.

It is better to sew a chair bag so that there is not only an inner, but also an outer cover. Then it can be removed and washed. So don't forget to sew the zipper to the outer cover. If you want to decorate such an ottoman, then redraw this pattern.

You can make the same applique as in the photo or slightly modify it by taking fabrics of a different color. Sew the wedges together first, but do not grind the sides of the first and last yet. Expand the resulting canvas, stitch the details of the applique to it. Sew a half of the roof to the edge without stitching to the cover. Then you get a spacious pocket in which you can put your printed materials, and then read them while sitting in a comfortable chair.

Here is the second option for making a piece of furniture. This is a rectangular beanbag chair. You need to stock up on such materials to sew it:

  • strong threads;
  • a zipper, the length of which is 50–100 cm;
  • filler.

A pattern and a detailed description will also help to sew this soft chair. Redraw it on the newspaper, guided by the clues. On each part of the pattern it is written what size it is. As a result, you will have:

  • 2 sidewalls;
  • front detail;
  • back;
  • bottom;
  • frontal detail.

Note that the two sidewalls are cut out in a mirror image. To do this, fold the fabric in half, place the appropriate pattern on top, attach it with pins. Draw and cut.

Sew the front piece with two sides on the wrong side. Sew the bottom to the resulting workpiece. Sew the back to it and two sides. Sew the front piece on top, but not completely, leave a hole through which you turn this inner cover. Place the filling for the chairs through it, but it should be enough to take up 2/3 of the interior space. Only then sew the seam to the end.

Using the same patterns, cut out the details for the chair's upper cover. Sew them as well, but do not sew up the junction of the back and bottom. Sew in the zipper here and turn the top cover out through this hole.

Ball-shaped ottoman
Ball-shaped ottoman

It can be created in the shape of a ball or in plain fabric. For the first option, you need 2 colors - light and dark. You will need to cut 20 hexagons from light fabric, and 12 pentagons from dark fabric. Everything is extremely simple. Fold the fabric in half, attach a pattern, cut along it, leaving seam allowances.

So that the joints do not diverge, they are strong, it is better to use a "bed" seam. To do this, grind 2 parts together first on the face. Then iron the seam and sew on the wrong side. Also make 2 covers. Put the filling for the chairs through the inner one, and insert the zipper into the top one.

If you create a round ottoman from one fabric, such a product is also comfortable and looks great.
