No one will refuse such a delicacy, neither the eaters nor the hostess! Learn to cook a simple and sophisticated roll of ready-made puff pastry with gooseberries and honey at home.
We will prepare a culinary masterpiece from ready-made puff yeast dough. But for reference, I will clarify that there are a huge number of varieties of puff pastry: Danish, unleavened, soda, puff, French yeast-free, etc. When buying ready-made dough, specify its type. When working with puff pastry, you must always roll it in one direction, it depends on how it will exfoliate! At the same time, keep in mind that the layer of dough without yeast should not be too thin, otherwise the structure of the dough will be disturbed. Ingredients:
- Puff yeast dough - 200 g
- Gooseberries or gooseberry puree (fresh or frozen) - 150 g
- Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp without slide
- Flour - 1, 5 tablespoons for sprinkling
- Honey - 1, 5 tablespoons or to taste
Step-by-step preparation of a roll of ready-made yeast puff pastry with gooseberries and honey, recipe with photo:
1. If the gooseberries (whole berries or puree) are frozen, be sure to thaw them. Wash fresh berries, dry with a paper towel and remove the stalk. Twist the berries through a meat grinder or cut into small pieces. Add honey and ground cinnamon to the fruit mass. Stir the filling well and taste it. If sweetness isn't enough, add honey. You can replace it with sugar, but brown is better.
2. Defrost the dough naturally without using a microwave oven. It will thaw literally in one hour. Then dust the tabletop and rolling pin with flour and roll it into a thin rectangular layer about 3 mm thick.
3. Place the fruit filling on a sheet of dough, spreading it evenly over the entire area. Leave 2 cm free edges on each side.
4. Fold free edges on three sides of the dough and cover the filling.
5. Gently roll the dough into a roll.
6. Transfer the roll to the baking sheet, seam side down. Since the puff pastry is quite fat, there is no need to grease the baking sheet with oil.
Make transverse shallow cuts along the entire length of the roll. They will give the product a beautiful appearance and the finished roll will be easier to cut. Brush the roll with vegetable or butter, milk or egg so that the finished dessert after heat treatment has a golden hue and a crisp crust.
Heat the oven to 180 degrees and send a roll of ready-made puff and yeast dough with gooseberries and honey to bake for half an hour. Leave the baked product on a baking sheet until it cools completely. After that, remove it from the baking sheet and cut into portions! Serve the roll with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, or a cup of coffee.
